This past Sunday, March 22, was World Water Day, which reminds us that water and climate change are linked—using water efficiently helps to reduce greenhouse gases and protect the planet. We all have a role to play in ensuring a resilient water future, and the Pure Water Program will use advanced technology to provide a safe, local and sustainable water supply for San Diego.

As we advance Phase I of the Pure Water Program , we want to assure you that the City of San Diego continues to provide safe, high quality drinking water each and every day for our customers. Now more than ever, we are grateful to the dedicated professionals who are keeping our water supplies safe and our systems running as we face an unprecedented time in our community and in our world.

With safety in mind, the City has temporarily suspended in-person tours of the Pure Water Demonstration Facility during the COVID-19 crisis. Until we can open our doors to the community again, we are pleased to share a first look at our virtual tour featuring an up-close look at the technology behind the Pure Water Program. Stay tuned for the full virtual tour soon!

Be safe and healthy, and cheers to a sustainable water future.
