The Northern Middlesex YMCA is deeply grateful to the organizers, supporters, and participants of the Sergeant George R. Dingwall Golf Tournament for their incredible generosity and continued commitment to local youth. Thanks to this year’s tournament efforts, the YMCA proudly received a donation of $12,250 to help send children to YMCA Camp Ingersoll through camp scholarships.

This meaningful gift honors the memory and legacy of Sergeant George R. Dingwall, a respected Middletown Police Officer remembered for his dedication, service, leadership, and compassion for the community. Sgt. Dingwall served the City of Middletown with distinction before his passing in 2000, and his impact continues to be felt through the annual golf tournament established in his honor.
The tournament has become more than just a day on the course. It is a lasting tribute that helps create opportunities for local children to experience the life-changing magic of summer camp. Through these scholarship funds, more kids will have the chance to build confidence, make friendships, learn new skills, and create lifelong memories at Camp Ingersoll regardless of financial circumstances.
“At the Y, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to belong, grow, and thrive,” said YMCA leadership. “We are incredibly thankful to the Dingwall Tournament organizers, the Middletown Police Department, sponsors, golfers, and everyone who helped make this donation possible.”
From all of us at the Y, thank you for helping strengthen our community and carry Sgt. Dingwall’s legacy forward in such a powerful way.
The YMCA’s goal is to raise $60,000 this year to ensure more children can experience the life-changing impact of summer camp at Camp Ingersoll. Every donation helps provide opportunities for kids to build confidence, make friends, explore the outdoors, and simply enjoy being a kid.
Now is also an especially meaningful time to give. Donations made through the Birdies for Charity program will receive an additional 15% match thanks to the generosity of Webster Bank and the Travelers Championship helping your gift go even further for local families.
