Honoring all who served VETERANS DAY

Please join us as we highlight the men and women on our staff and in our families who served in the U.S. Armed Forces. We have featured two staff members, our founder and their families. Click here to read more stories about our families' military contributions.

We thank APRx Data Management Specialist Lana Bailey for her service.

After high school, Lana enlisted in the Air Force Reserve as an aeromedical evacuation specialist. She is a veteran of Desert Shield / Desert Storm, deploying as a member of the 37th Aeromedical Evacuation Group from MacDill AFB in Tampa, FL. Lana spent just over six months in country, mostly in tents near the runway of an abandoned airport about 45 miles south of the Iraqi border. She left the military as a Technical Sergeant (E-6).

Lana is pictured with her dad, Robert Lee, at Basic Military Training Field Day / Family Visitation – Lackland AFB, 1987.

We thank Lana's late father, Robert Edward Lee, for his service. Robert left college in 1953 to serve in the U.S. Air Force as a RADAR operator and was stationed in Korea at the end of the war. While there, he was a standout fast-pitch softball pitcher for his unit team and led them to a theater championship. After leaving the Air Force, he went on to enjoy a successful career in music, playing guitar and singing in venues across the United States and Canada.

We thank APRx Founder and President Emeritus Michael Gohlke for his service. Corp. Michael Gohlke (R) is pictured with his hometown (Goliad, TX) friend, Corp. James Aubrey Thigpen (L), at USMC Red Beach in Da Nang, Vietnam.

Rest in Peace, James, and thank you both for your service.

We thank Colonel Christopher Michael Gohlke and Captain Teresa Rautiola Gohlke (retired) for their service. Col. Gohlke and Teresa were both deployed (prior to marriage) after September 11, 2001, in Operation Enduring Freedom. Col. Gohlke started his career as a Special Operations pilot flying the C130 Talon and was deployed multiple times to the Middle East and African theaters in America's fight against global terrorism. Col. Gohlke still maintains his flight readiness as a military and Delta Air Lines pilot. He currently serves as Inspector General for the 94th Airlift Wing at Dobbins AFR Base in Powder Springs, GA. Christopher and Teresa are the son and daughter-in-law of Mike Gohlke, President Emeritus and Founder of American Pharmacies.

We thank David Fisher for his service. David served on the USS Preston, which was sunk during the battle of Savo Island near Guadalcanal with the loss of a great many of his shipmates. He and other survivors were rescued only after enduring a number of days in shark-infested waters. The phototo (R) was taken in November 1942. David separated from the U.S. Navy in 1947 as a Chief Quartermaster. David is the father-in-law of Mike Gohlke.

We thank APRx VP of Government Affairs Michael Wright for his service. Michael served in the U.S. Army with multiple aviation companies in support of American, Australian, and South Vietnamese troops. He wore the USARV patch home after stand-downs started in 1970. He is a highly decorated veteran who wears his Bronze Star daily. His dedication and leadership earned him the honor of serving on the Executive Committee that built the Texas Capitol Vietnam Veterans Monument to honor the 3,417 Texans who gave their all.

Michael’s immediate and extended family has given nearly 150 years to the service of our country in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force. This includes an uncle who served in tanks during World War II in Europe for over 4 years and a father-in-law who served with the U.S. Army Air Corp in the Pacific as a crew chief/mechanic on P-47's.

Michael and two of his brothers in combination served in Korea for one tour, one tour in Kosovo, and five tours in Vietnam. Michael is pictured in front of the Texas Capitol Vietnam Veterans Monument with his wife, Lynn, whose grandfather fought in WWI in the trenches of France.
