William G. Scheele was an incredible friend and Cleveland Arts champion, as well as a great ally to 78th Street Studios.
He operated Kokoon Arts Gallery on the second floor of 78th Street for over fifteen years, curating extraordinary exhibitions, promoting local artists and collaborating with other arts businesses. Bill has always had multiple exciting arts projects in the works.
He joined forces with owner Dan Bush in 2007 to create the Third Friday art walk, an event that now attracts thousands of people on a monthly basis to experience the local arts scene.
It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we mourn his sudden passing this week; his enthusiasm, passion and friendship will be forever missed.
Bill’s entrepreneurial spirit and great love for Cleveland Art will live on through the businesses at 78th Street Studios, and his memory is forever etched on our hearts.
Our hearts go out to Bill’s wife, Elizabeth R. Scheele, at this time. This Third Friday we are paying tribute to Bill’s contributions to 78th Street Studios and all donations at the door and online will go directly to his Family.
