Dear Business Affairs team,
After more than two decades of extraordinary leadership and service, Assistant Vice President and former Chief of Police Linda J. Stump-Kurnick will retire from the University of Florida on July 14.
As UF's first female police chief—and the first at any Florida public university—Linda has been a trailblazer in law enforcement. After stepping down as chief last year, she continued to provide steady, strategic leadership as our Assistant Vice President of Public Safety.
I am grateful to Linda for her exemplary service over the past 22 years. Her unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of our campus community has left an indelible mark. Under her leadership, the University of Florida Police Department advanced in professionalism, preparedness and community engagement, fostering relationships rooted in trust and respect.
Please join me in thanking Linda for her outstanding contributions and in wishing her all the best in her well-earned retirement.
