Bi-Weekly Newsletter

Wildflowers! That means it's Spring Quarter and amazing colors. The college has a wonderful new President, Dr. Kristina Whalen, who is thrilled with all things honors. If you see her please say hello, she would be happy to meet some of you honors students!

Lots of things on the horizon as you get started this week. There are still spaces available in classes, it doesn't hurt to reach out to professors to see if you can get in with an add code.

We are excited to share information about SJSU’s HonorsX, an interdisciplinary program unlike any other. We especially look forward to welcoming Transfer Students. We have no minimum GPA requirements. Here is the website.

HonorsX offers a full-scholarship three-week 3-unit summer course. This includes four nights of housing & meals in SJSU dorms. The class runs from July 17th to August 4th.

Students can join zoom info sessions here and apply here.

Here is why HonorsX may be of interest to students:

  • Problem-based and project-based program - our 2023 topic is "Developing Sustainable Societies"

  • Co-taught by three faculty from three different disciplines

  • Opportunities to work with industry and non-profit mentors and be involved in experiential learning

Our final HonorsX student presentations this semester will be held at Martin Luther King Library, Room 225 on Thursday, 5/11 at 3pm. A reception will follow. All are welcome! Register here
