BIG NEWS -- Honors Scholar Forms to complete. Important for transcripts. Please share your service learning experience on the form. ASAP! If you are an honors student who is transferring you gotta do this for honors scholar acknowledgement on your transcript please do this by May 19th.


Newsletter Highlights

For students who are completing the Honors Scholar program for Fall 2023 admission, all criteria must be completed by the end of Spring 2023 quarter. The petition window to request the Honors Scholar designation and report your service learning is due by Friday, May 19, 2023.

Students, staff, faculty, and pet owls are coming to the June 7th Honors celebration. We will cheer Honors Scholars and Transfers plus play games with prizes (Honors swag!). Bring your family, show off the campus and enjoy a good meal. Event is from 4-6 pm at Appreciation Hall. RSVP how many you will bring -- include friends and family!

Foothill was in the house! A great day for our students. Four excellent presentations were done by Nimita, Dennis, Kevin, Saintra, Alekos, and Yash. A good time was had by all. We thought everyone's presentation was smooth and professional. Well done. Be sure to do it next year if you are here -- it will be at Berkeley!

UC Santa Cruz Trip for May 25th. (5 more spots)

The Humanities Mellon Scholars Program and Honors

 

Did you know that you can complete the Humanities Mellon Scholars program with Honors classes? We are now accepting applications for the HMS program for Fall quarter. Benefits of the program include:

Ecuador and Hawaii Anthro Field Programs

Ecuador

Discover with us the beauty of Ecuador as we continue our investigation of the landscapes surrounding the Pre-Columbian sites of Pambamarca. Join us in South America this summer for an excellent archaeology and cultural experience with course work and field trips. Live with us and other project members in the Andes. Learn about all aspects of the research project, including archaeological survey and excavation and community development activities, but the focus will be on laboratory work. More info here.


Hawaii

The Hawaii Indigenous Archaeology program will be doing research in a pono or Hawaiian way, meaning we will live and breathe local thinking as we learn about the life and history of these amazing islands. More info here.
