Some updates from the Honors Students & Faculty in Global Experiential Learning Florence Program!
The Foothill students and faculty, Professors Milissa Carey and Kerri Ryer, have been sharing photos from their first few weeks in Florence. The group is off to a FANTASTIC start to the 8-week program. So far they have explored the city of Florence, attended a live theatre performance, a hands-on cooking class and a mask-making workshop focused on Italian Commedia. Of course they have also visited many museums, including the Uffizi, and have taken full day excursions to Pisa, Siena and San Gimignano. Students are studying Political Science, History, Global Studies, Theatre and Music. Prof. Ryer reports that their "life is now complete" after conducting lectures for their Western Civ and Honors Political Theory classes in the Basilica of Santa Croce and standing in front of the monumental tomb of Machiavelli! You can check out all of the photos (adding more every week so keep checking back!) in the Florence Photo Gallery: https://foothillcollege.smugmug.com/Global-Experiential-Learning/Florence-Italy-2023/
