It may not feel like it, but Spring is finally here! Sometimes the Spring season can feel busy with all of the spring cleaning, freshening up the yard and garden, kids diving into the last quarter of the school year, and summer plans beginning to develop. But Spring is also a time to take a breath, soak in the beauty of the budding trees and flowers, and to enjoy the outdoors and more hours of sunshine. Spring represents a new beginning and maybe a renewal of your spirit.
Around here we just had a fun spring break with Ethan and his college buddy at home for the week. Cade spent a few days in Florida with his friend watching baseball games and playing in the ocean. And now, it's back to the grind. Ethan has gone back to Western to finish his last 6 weeks of his freshman year. And at home these next few months are going to fly by! Cade is hitting the road to practice his driving skills with his drivers permit. And he made the freshman high school baseball team so we're looking forward to cheering him on over the next few months!
How about a few fun Spring Facts?
- The term "spring fever" refers to both psychological and physiological symptoms associated with the arrival of spring, including restlessness and daydreaming. While the exact cause is unclear, scientists believe that increased light and more exercise may increase the feel-good hormone levels, causing people to experience energetic feelings.
- Baby birds learn to sing during the spring. Although they are born with the ability to sing, they must learn the specific songs of their species. They often learn their songs within two months of being born.
-
The fall and spring equinoxes are the only two times during the year when the sun rises due east and sets due west.
