JEFFERSON ISLAND, La. --- The Frosted Apron and Rip Van Winkle Gardens are
hoppy to announce that the 2nd annual Eggs-Treme Easter Celebration is happening twice on March 29, from 10:30 a.m. - noon and from 1:30 - 3 p.m., inside the newly renovated Bayless Center located on the grounds at Rip Van Winkle Gardens (5505 Rip Van Winkle Rd., New Iberia).
Each participant will get to decorate two Easter themed donuts (provided by Cajun Glaze New Iberia) with Stacey from The Frosted Apron. They will get to color their own Easter bag that they will use to hunt for eggs filled with surprises on the front lawn of the Joseph Jefferson Mansion, so no baskets needed. (Wear comfy shoes, there will be a walk through the gardens from the Bayless Center to the Mansion.) A very special prize will be awarded to the child who finds the Golden Egg, and all the kids will have a chance to win a door prize.
The event's planners are also
egg-cited to have Macaroni Kid Lafayette/New Iberia be a part of the event this year. They will be doing a fun Easter craft with the kids. The Easter Bunny will be the special guest and the kids will get to have a meet and greet with him. Feel free to take tons of pictures.
Cost to participate is $28 per participating child, which needs to be paid in advance through
Eventbrite.com. You must purchase a child's ticket to get in and only up to three nonparticipants can get in per child's ticket (no cover charge for the three nonparticipants). Make sure you attend at the time you choose. If you pick the morning time, you can not come to the afternoon event, and vice versa. Payment is nonrefundable, and pets or alcoholic beverages are not allowed.
The recommended age is 4 to 12, but younger children are welcome. Please arrive 10 minutes before the event. If you have friends that want to be in the same group as you, please contact Stacey at (337) 201-1952.
