I am deeply grateful for the opportunity this Lent to share the mission of giving with Shelly Emery's third-grade class at Holy Family Catholic School in Orlando. It was a blessing to talk to the students about the St. Vincent de Paul Mission of giving and our partnership with the Florida Catholic. Together, we collected long-sleeve shirts for migrant workers to help protect them from pesticide exposure and the harsh sun during this season.
The children worked hard, gathering long-sleeve shirts and other requested items. When I left, I was blessed with a truckload of donations, thanks to their generosity.
Shelly Emery shared her appreciation: "Thank you so much for coming to speak to my class today! It was so meaningful to us."
