This Weekend at Hope: NEW SERMON SERIES!
The Time Has Come | A Simpler Christmas | Mark 1:1-8
Happy Friday Hope!

A couple really important things happen this weekend at worship.

First, I wanted to remind you that this weekend we'll announce the giving total for  Building 2 a Hope Beyond. If the fun and travel of Thanksgiving caused you to miss commitment weekend and you would like to give a one-time gift or three-year pledge you can do that here!

Second, t his weekend is the beginning of Advent. The countdown is on to Christmas (only 25 more shopping days remain!). Advent is a time of preparing and waiting. For many of us, this is not a strength. We want what we want, when and how we want it. We get angry at anything or anyone who gets in our way and forces us to wait.
Part of the purpose of Advent is to force us to wait. To slow down. To look around. To contemplate. To ponder. To think and to feel. To meet God in the midst of it all.
Our team has carefully planned many opportunities for you to get into the spirit of Christmas. The Men's Breakfast is Saturday, Dec. 1. The Women's Christmas Dinner is Saturday, Dec. 8. And remember, there are all kinds of things happening at other Hope campuses as well!
Throughout December the weekend worship services will be opportunities for all of that to happen. HopeKids will be singing the weekend of Dec. 8-9. The Christmas Cantata is Dec. 15-16, and Christmas Eve services are Dec. 21-24. I hope you will make plans to join us!
This weekend I'll preach a message called "A Simpler Christmas" and focus on the beginning of Mark 1. Bring your friend and a Bible and let's pay attention to what God is up to in our lives!
Each Advent Hope has a mission project. This year's project is The Philippines in conjunction with our mission partner Convoy of Hope. Take some time to learn about what we are trying to do, and prayerfully consider giving to the cause.
