This Weekend at Hope:
Building 2 a Hope Beyond | A Faith Beyond (a Doubt)Luke 1:1-4
Happy Friday Hope!
Building 2 a Hope Beyond is in full swing. A giving campaign at Hope is always in response to all the incredible things God is already doing in our church. It's an opportunity for us to celebrate that and to move even further into the vision for this congregation. One of our Core Values at Hope says, " Following Jesus is a growing experience." There's always a next step to our faith, and this campaign is all helping one another take that next step.
The three goals for Building 2 a Hope Beyond are: Gather, Grow and Give. There are many opportunities to gather and each gathering is an opportunity to grow.
+ Weekly worship. I'm always excited to preach at Hope Ankeny, and I'm even more excited than normal for the next three weekends. This weekend the message is called
A Faith Beyond (a Doubt). You'll be hearing the Hope Story of Trevor Riedemann and how his faith has been growing over the years. I spent the last two weeks on Mission South Africa with a group of 20 Hopesters, and I'll be talking about the ways that experience has helped our faith grow. I've always thought it would be great to have a sign in front of our church that says "Doubters Welcome." I hope you'll come with your doubts and maybe even invite someone you know who has doubts about God.
+ Open Houses are happening all over central Iowa. Over 200 open houses have been scheduled so you can get to know some people of Hope, and get all the information you could want about Building 2 a Hope Beyond. If you haven't done so already, we hope you'll attend an open house. Please RSVP to the open house you were invited to. If you are not able to make it to that one, we will have two catch-all open houses at the church on Sunday, Nov. 4, or Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 7:00 pm!
+ Prayer and Praise Night is tonight, Friday, Nov. 2, from 6:00 - 7:30 pm. Come set your heart on God at the end of a full week.
+ Prayer Walk and Bonfire is next Saturday, Nov. 10, following the 5:00 pm service. The prayer team will have a prayer path set up for us to walk around the church property and pray for specific requests as you walk. We'll also have a cool experiential prayer time around a bonfire on the land where we hope to expand.
+ Building 2 a Hope Beyond Celebration is Sunday, Nov. 11, at 5:00 pm. At Hope Ankeny we are throwing a party because "there ain't no party like a Jesus party!" It's going to be a time of worship, laughter, dreaming and gratitude for the ways God is changing us. Do whatever you can to make sure you attend the Celebration. #FOMO
I also want to remind you we will never ask you to give to Building 2 a Hope Beyond at any of these gatherings. We do want you to be prayerfully considering what God is asking of you. Commitment weekend is Nov. 17-18 and we'll give you more information on our giving goals in the next couple weeks.
See you around, Hope!
