Giving Tuesday
In three years, Hope Center Houston has grown tremendously, answering the needs of the homeless in our community.  Our new facility provides the space necessary for our growing services, however with growth comes an increase in expenses. To serve our guests most efficiently and to use our funds wisely, o ur immediate need is to retire the obligations from our building construction. Before year’s end, we need your help in a BIG WAY! #GivingTuesday is Dec. 3rd. You can visit our Facebook page on Tuesday to have your contribution matched or go directly to our website to donate. Thank You!
A Wedding Celebration
Blessings and even miracles happen often at Hope Center Houston, but a week ago Saturday we witnessed both. Two prior guests were married at Hope Center! We held a beautiful wedding ceremony and reception, and our own Dr. Bob Butler presided over the ceremony. The event was truly a blessing for all! Happy Wedding Day and best wishes for a beautiful future to Brenda and Little. Please visit their wedding album on our Facebook page!
A Thanksgiving Blessing with Ryan Anderson
Sunday, November 17 was an extraordinary day that many of our guests will never forget. Ryan Anderson, formerly of the Houston Rockets, delivered an early Thanksgiving fiesta to Hope Center Houston. Ryan, Kari and the rest of their crew brought joy, sustenance, a whole lot of fun and even dancing. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed the special attention they received, especially the new hairdos from four hair stylists! Thank you for this blessing!
Volunteers of the Month
Our volunteers of the month are Larry and Jan Vines, a dynamic-duo who contribute their talents in many, many ways. Larry, a Deacon at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church, is an original HCH board member. A quiet and thoughtful man, Larry offers his assistance and wisdom with great care. Jan, known for her hard work and creativity at our Gala auctions and Fashion show, is always ready to lend a hand and even find a crew of ladies to help. We thank you and appreciate you both!!!
Cold Weather is Coming!

Part of our mission at Hope Center Houston is to provide a warm and safe place for our homeless guests in cases of inclement weather. Any time our area experiences severe flooding or temperatures below 32°, Hope Center Houston opens its doors to our homeless brothers and sisters. This act of kindness incurs added expenses for the Center…we must provide food, extra security, blankets, etc. Please help us with a monetary gift – a gift of any amount - to continue providing for the weakest in our community.   Blankets, sleeping bags, backpacks, and coats are always welcome. Thank you!!
"Hope Talks"
Our own Rev. Allen White launched Hope Center Houston’s inaugural "Hope Talks" event this past Wednesday, November 27th with guest speaker Paul Marshall. "Hope Talks" events are where special guest speakers will share their messages of faith, hope and inspiration. All members of the community - guests, board members, staff, volunteers, and friends - are welcome and invited to attend. Our guest speaker for December is John McDonald, a HCH board member . All outside visitors are invited to bring a sack lunch and join in our fellowship. Reservations are not required. Check our Facebook page for December's date and time.
A message of Thanks from our President

I woke up this morning thinking of Hope Center and the beautiful ministry that all of you have supported and nurtured. What an amazing thing you have done! So many people are cared for, prayed for, and given basic needs and beyond because of your work. I am so grateful for the family you have created with the guests and between each other as volunteers and staff. It is the reason for Hope Center’s success! God has placed each of you at Hope Center because of your faith and your heart. You are servants. You are caretakers. You are friends, and you look beyond what you see on the surface to see the humanity underneath.
As I think about the last 3+ years, I am thankful to each of you for making an almost impossible dream into a reality. So many doubted in Hope Center, but with God’s help and blessings, here we are! Thank you for making a difference everyday in the lives of broken people who have lost all hope. Your efforts, time, resources, prayers, and friendship to those in need has changed their everyday lives and maybe their futures. Each of you are living out what God has called you to do, and that is something to celebrate and be thankful for.
