World Sight Day: A Global Call to Action - Thursday, October 9

Each year, World Sight Day shines a spotlight on the importance of accessible eye care for everyone, everywhere. It’s a reminder that clear vision can change lives and that together, we can bring that gift to more people.

This year’s theme focuses on bringing eye care to the center of decision making, from classrooms and clinics to community boards and government offices. Hope Alliance joins organizations around the world in advocating for greater awareness, access, and equity in vision care, because everyone deserves the chance to see a brighter future.

Partner Spotlight: Local Heroes Making Vision Care Possible

Hope Alliance's work is made stronger, broader, and more sustainable through partnerships. This month, we shine a spotlight on four valued collaborators who support our shared mission:

Temple Har Shalom

🕍 Support provided: volunteer base and community outreach

Serve Park City

🙌 Support provided: Volunteer hours processing our donated eyewear

✨ Impact: 28 Hope Alliance volunteers helped at this annual day of service

Noon Rotary

⚙️ Support provided: Equipment funding and clinic volunteer hours

✨ Impact: Turned resources into real care for our community

Holy Cross Ministries

👶 Support provided: Preschool clinic partnerships and family referrals

✨ Impact: Connected underserved families to essential vision care

In Case You Missed It: Healthy Kids Fair Highlights

Hope Alliance was proud to participate in the Wasatch Healthy Kids Fair last month, a vibrant gathering of families, health providers, and community organizations focused on promoting preventive care and wellness.

We were able to screen 33 kids!

• Wasatch youth completed vision screenings with Hope Alliance, saw the doctor, and will be fitted for two pairs of glasses each.
• Community feedback was overwhelmingly positive — "helpful," "welcoming" & "informative"

We are grateful to every volunteer and family who joined us. The energy and engagement at the fair reaffirmed the need and the power of bringing health resources into our community.

ONE Spot Left: Mexico Expedition!

This impactful and approachable service trip offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference while enjoying the vibrant culture and hospitality of Mexico.

Now in its fourth year, our expedition continues with successful clinics which as a volunteer you will find both fulfilling and inspiring. The Hope Alliance expedition to Puerto Peñasco is more than just a trip. It’s a life-changing experience with the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives to our neighbors in the south.

The details: November 11-17, starting in Phoenix. $1,100 covers almost everything except your flight.
