Hope Rising Amidst Conflict

Greetings Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

For centuries, Cambodia has endured the loss of land and resources due to conflicts with neighboring nations. While history books sometimes misinterpret these struggles, the Khmer people are fundamentally peaceful. After surviving the Khmer Rouge era and decades of poverty, our nation desires to rebuild and heal.

However, 2025 brought a new and painful chapter. Border disputes escalated into heavy fighting involving artillery and air attacks. This "invasion" has claimed the lives of soldiers and innocent civilians alike, leaving families shattered and communities in mourning.

The scale of the suffering is immense. More than 600,000 Cambodians have been forced to flee their homes in the north and northeast regions. This displacement has become one of the largest humanitarian crises in Southeast Asia in recent years.

As a small Christian minority in Cambodia, we mourn the brokenness of our fallen world and pray earnestly for peace (Psalm 122:6). Yet, we know that God is sovereign. He is able to redeem the darkest circumstances, turning what was intended for evil into an opportunity for His glory (Genesis 50:20).

In times of war, when false securities are stripped away, hearts often open to the eternal hope found only in Jesus Christ. CCI Cambodia is meeting that need.

  • Relief Efforts: CCI staff, teachers, and students raised funds and gathered supplies to help those displaced near the border. We successfully distributed food and essential aid to 200 families in the refugee camps.
  • Sharing the Gospel: Along with the food, we shared the gospel. Many people approached us, eager to hear the message of hope that Jesus offers.
  • A Place of Refuge: Our coordinator, Samoeurn Bo, opened his church as a shelter for five displaced families. Beyond providing a roof over their heads, Samoeurn is teaching them farming techniques so they can grow their own food and support their families in the future.

Sharing Food and the Gospel at the Refuge Camp

Samoeurn's Church is Sharing Farming Techniques and Providing Shelter for Five Families

We believe that even in the midst of shelling and displacement, God is moving. Please join us in prayer:

  1. For Peace: Pray for a permanent end to the border conflict and for the protection of civilians.
  2. For the Displaced: Pray for the 600,000 people living in camps, that they would find comfort and provision.
  3. For the Gospel: Pray that the seeds planted by CCI students and teachers would grow, and that many would come to know Christ through this trial.

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." - Romans 8:28

Thank you for standing with CCI Cambodia and the Khmer people.

Class Visit in Battambang

In December, we visited Sek Sok, Battambang, and finished our first course, Bible Study Methods and Rules of Interpretation. It was a blessed time of fellowship with both teachers and students, and we were able to begin the second course, Old Testament Survey.

Thank you for your faithful prayers and generous support of CCI Cambodia. Your partnership allows us to bring relief, hope, and the gospel to those affected by conflict and displacement. We are grateful to stand together with you, trusting God to work through this difficult season for His glory.

In Christ,

Sitha and Srey Nit Dourng

CCI Cambodia National Director

Special Request for Coordinator Support

We ask for your prayers for Lim Phanny, our coordinator in the west, who currently oversees nine classes, nine teachers, and 89 students. He has been faithfully serving in this role, equipping the churches in the west, and we are so grateful for his commitment to this ministry.

Currently, Lim Phanny is receiving financial support from CCI, but next year, he will no longer receive this support. We lift him up in prayer, asking God to provide for his needs and continue to bless him abundantly as he serves in his calling. We pray for open doors of financial provision and that his work in equipping the churches will bear fruit.

Please pray that Pastor Lim Phanny will have all the resources he needs to carry out the work in western Cambodia. May the Lord’s provision be evident in his life, and may his faith remain steadfast as he trusts in God’s perfect timing and plan. If you want to support Lim Phanny, click the button below and annotate his name in the gift note.

We would like to lift up Meas Sat, our coordinator in the south, in prayer as he oversees four classes and two teachers. Currently, he receives financial support from CCI, which has been a blessing to him. However, we ask for your prayers for continued financial provision, as next year, he will no longer receive this support.

Please pray for God’s guidance in providing the necessary resources for Meas Sat’s ministry so that he may continue to equip and strengthen the churches in the South. We pray that his financial needs are met and that God blesses him with wisdom, strength, and the right partnerships to continue his important work.

Please enjoy CCI's Year in Review, highlighting what God has done in 2025 around the world.

Prayer Requests & Praises

Sitha Dourng, National Director

  • Pray for the Kampot Pastors Discipleship Group. Praise God for His continued grace and guidance in our ongoing ministry in Kampot Province. Every month, I travel there to equip, encourage, and build relationships with a group of pastors who are growing in their faith and ministry leadership. These pastors are deeply committed to serving their local congregations, often in challenging circumstances. Through our regular gatherings, we focus on discipleship, biblical leadership development, and practical ministry training. Together, we study God's Word, share ministry experiences, and pray for one another, strengthening both our spiritual lives and unity as servants of Christ.
  • Pray for traveling every two weeks to the north to teach.
  • Pray for Support for our Coordinators. Please keep our five coordinators working with CCI Cambodia in your prayers. Ask God to provide for their families' financial needs. And pray for their children.
  • Pray for me to have wisdom when I share the gospel online, as I teach on YouTube and Facebook. Guide my words, videos, and posts so that they resonate with authenticity and power. Use these digital tools to reach people far and wide, breaking down barriers and softening hearts to receive God's message of hope and salvation.
