Hope Lutheran Church continues to take steps to live our Mission - To Know Christ and to Make Christ Known - at the Hope South Campus. The Hope South Campus Building Project consists of two distinct phases envisioned to work in parallel. These phases are the Activity Center phase and the Main Building Complex phase which consists of the Worship Center, Administration/Education Center, Courtyard and Bell Tower. The Main Building Complex phase consists of two sub-phases: design and building construction.
The preliminary cost estimates presented here envision the Activity Center phase and the Main Building Complex sub-phase design are executed in parallel and scheduled to be accomplished at the same time. If approved, the Activity Center phase and Main Building Complex sub-phase design will commence during Fall/Winter 2022/2023.
All costs associated with the development of the Activity Center phase and Main Building Complex sub-phase design will be presented to the congregation for approval at the Special Congregation Meeting scheduled for October 7, 2022, at 3:00 pm at the Hope Central Campus, preceding the Annual Church Picnic.
A Town Hall Meeting will be held on September 18, 2022, at 4:00 pm at the Hope Central Campus to review all these details and related matters.
Activity Center Phase
Preliminary Budget Cost Estimates
The Activity Center, as recently revised to reflect feedback and input from the members of the Congregation, will be a place to experience the many ministries of Hope Lutheran before, during and after the construction of the Main Building Complex ( Worship Center, Administration/Education Center, Courtyard and Bell Tower).
A preliminary budget with estimated expenses associated with the Activity Center (2036 sf building with a 50-person meeting room and an 811-sf porch in the back) has been developed from information received from Dickerson Architects. Main Building Complex - Design Phase
Preliminary Budget Cost Estimates for Design/Engineering Contracts
The Main Building Complex design sub-phase is envisioned to commence at the same time as the Activity Center phase with both phases executed in parallel. The intent of the Main Building Complex design phase is to obtain detailed cost estimates and design plans for the Worship Center, Administration/Education Center, Courtyard and Bell Tower, including utilities, site drainage, parking, access roads, landscaping and all associated site work.
The estimated costs for these design/engineering contracts for the Main Building Complex are as follows:
- Architect, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Consultants - $300,000
- Civil Engineers - $20,000
- Landscape Architect - $20,000
- TBD Geo-Technical Services - $15,000
- TBD Consulting Services - $70,000
- Total - $425,000
The above total estimated contract costs will provide complete design and engineering contractual services for the Main Building Complex. A portion of this total effort is required to provide accurate cost estimates and plans to be utilized by the Capital Campaign and for Council to make informed budget cost and project scope decisions.
The Main Building Complex budget and design plans will be presented to the Congregation for final project approval in the mid-2023. If the design plans and budget are approved, Council will authorize the execution of the remaining portion of the design and engineering services contracts to finalize the construction sub-phase. Appropriate safeguards will be incorporated in the design contracts to ensure Council has control over execution.
