Hope Lutheran Church is one church, three campuses. The Hope South Campus is expanding the vision and ministry to the southern expansion of The Villages. Hope South Campus is strategically located on the major thoroughfare, Meggison Road, and our site is highly visible from Warm Springs Blvd and the Florida Turnpike. The site is fully accessible by golf cart via the Villages expansive golf cart trail system.

One of the major components of the Hope South Campus Building Project is the Activity Center which is a permanent multi-purpose building establishing a visible presence for Hope Lutheran on the picturesque narrow northern end of our southern site. Our ministries in the southern Villages have primarily been in the form of worship, due to our lack of gathering space throughout the week. The Activity Center is a place to expand the mission of the church on days other than Sunday and a place for Hope Lutheran to expand its many ministries. This expansion may come in the form of new ministries ; it also can come through the expansion of current ministries.

The recently completed Feasibility Study provided Congregation feedback on the current Hope South Campus Building Program. The Activity Center, as presented during the study, was seen as too small and not innovative enough. The Hope Strategic Planning Committee took this feedback and expanded the Activity Center to accommodate 50 people in meetings, a dedicated counseling area, a dedicated refreshment area, a dedicated area for a receptionist, an additional restroom and additional storage. This increased the size to 2,036 sf and the construction cost to $500,000. These modifications resulted in redesigning the foyer and front entry and moving the porch to the rear of the building and increased the size to 811 sf.

How Might YOU Use the Activity Center?

In addition, feedback on the parking for the Main Building Complex was received. The site parking plan was modified to provide approximately 50 additional parking spaces on the east side of the complex to reduce the walking distance from the parking area to the front door of the narthex. These modifications were approved by your Church Council.
