This Weekend at Hope:
Which Way to the Promised Land? | A Meal to Remember Exodus 12:21-23
Greetings Hope Waukee Family,

Fall is often a time of change. We start to winterize our homes, dust off the snow blower and in a few weeks, we'll start raking up our leaves. I love the season and I feel like every fall I rediscover a new wardrobe...mainly flannels, but still...a new wardrobe.

Change can be a good thing, but it can also be a difficult time. It can be good, especially if it's been a difficult season for us. And yet that change sometimes is just as difficult as what we went through. Isaiah 41:10 reminds us to "Fear not, for I (GOD) am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your GOD. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

God was definitely with the Israelites during the Passover, even though many were struggling to make sense of their journey. The Passover would be the final straw between Pharaoh and God. It would take a crushing blow of Spirit and life to loosen the grip Pharaoh had on the Israelites. But God's protection would be upon his chosen people, and they would eventually begin their freedom march.

This weekend we will hear from Pastor Mike about God's directive to Moses to protect his people. We will learn about the trials and tribulations that eventually led to the Israelites becoming a freed people.

So, what do we need to be freed from? What's that final step for us to truly be free? What are we still holding on to? What still has a grip on us?

Join us this weekend, either Saturday at 5:00 pm or Sunday at 9:15 or 11:00 am to wrestle through this amazing journey in Exodus together. Know that the same power of God 3,500 years ago still exists today for us. Let's take a step together.
