This Weekend at Hope:
HOPE4IA | HOPE for Church Volunteers & Staff | Galatians 6:2-10
Here we go!
As I write this week's e-news (it's Thursday morning), the building is abuzz with women and preschoolers. Women have already been here for a few hours setting up for the Women's Fall Kick-off event. If you missed it last night, I encourage you to go online and see the variety of Bible, book, and season of life studies that are available for women. We are so blessed to have a great team of volunteers helping to connect women with others and God.
This weekend, we are gathering for the kick-off of a new church year, known as Rally Weekend. Rally Weekend is a time when the congregation gathers after a busy summer of activities and vacations and settles in for a new church year. So, this weekend our regular times for weekend worship, along with HopeKids, are a go (Saturday at 5:00 pm or Sunday 9:15 and 11:00 am).
HopeKids will kick off this weekend with new school year lessons, and you can help us make the morning check-in process go smoothly by preregistering your child/ren by noon on Friday. Here is the quick link to register for HopeKids. If you aren't preregistered, please come 15 minutes early and we'll get them registered.
As we start a new church year, now is the time to connect, grow and serve with others. For the next two weeks in the Atrium, before and after services, we are encouraging everyone to consider joining a Life Group. Whether you meet every week, bi-weekly, or three times a month, there are so many benefits to sharing in this life with others while pursuing God's love and heart. So, make sure you go to the south windows in the Atrium and look for a time of the week that might work to join others in Christian community. Accepting the invitation to show up in community with others is about moving from the sidelines to the field. It's moving from developing opinions to developing options. It's about having things matter to us enough that we stop just thinking about those things and actually do something about them. Simply stated, Jesus wants us to accept an invitation to participate with others in this life.
We are trying to make connecting to others easy. So, for the next couple weeks, take a few minutes to identify a day of the week, time and location to meet, and put your name and contact information on one of the spots to be placed in a new Life Group. Our first study in these groups is called "Community," by a well-known Christian leader, Andy Stanley. It will focus on how we grow, connect with one another, and learn to serve others.
Finally, if you have been putting it off for years, or recently have considered joining Hope, I'd encourage you to sign up for the New Member Class this Sunday at 12:30 pm in West Des Moines. I look forward to meeting you, and our table leaders from Waukee will too.
Great things are happening!
Pastor Pat

P.S. Please pray for the first full weekend of services at Hope Grimes in its new permanent building and location ( 1335 NE Beaverbrooke Blvd., Grimes). It's amazing to see how God is moving at all our campuses.

Join a Life Group
"We're better together!" God created us to live in community with one another (not to try and figure it all out by ourselves). The purpose of Hope's Life Groups Ministry is to bring people together in growing, Christ-centered relationships. We do this through Life Groups - small groups of Christ-followers who meet regularly to grow relationships, study God's Word, and serve the world around them.
