Blessings, Hope Waukee!
As we prepare for the exciting fall and new school year, we have already experienced so much as a church family together. That's family life, right?
I am so excited to announce that this weekend we welcome three new staff who will help us reach the emerging generation, and with our work on building ministry opportunities for adults and families. I look forward to introducing these people this weekend during worship:
- Allison Webb, Children's Ministry Director
- Jordyn Wyzgoski, Student Life Coordinator
- Chad Borgestad, Adult, Youth and Family Director
With these new staff members joining Hope Waukee, we are in an exciting place for the fall.
PowerLife (Hope's Confirmation ministry) will begin, and all incoming students in grades 6-8 will have an opportunity to ask questions and grow as they affirm and confirm their faith at Hope Waukee. Wednesdays will be an exciting night here as PowerLife students will gather with dinner at 5:30 pm and PowerLife programming at 6:15 pm. More details will be shared in the weeks ahead.
As we kick off the new school year, we will also open our doors to high school students with programming on Sunday evenings. High school students will have the opportunity to gather at Hope Waukee for worship and small group Bible study.
Ignition (Hope's high school ministry) will have occasions throughout the year to gather for fellowship and service opportunities with all of Hope's campuses.
It's an exciting time for our campus, especially for students and their families. Please keep these ministries in your prayers as we begin the school year. Details on how you can get involved will be shared in a
Ministry Fair coming Sunday, Aug. 14.
But we balance all the excitement for the fall with a bittersweet farewell to two transitioning off our staff.
Amie Schnoor, HopeKids Coordinator, has served faithfully for more than two years. Amie and her family will remain part of the worshiping body here, so please be sure to thank her for all the great work she has done in starting and building such a wonderful foundation for our
Children's Ministry.
Also,
Matt McNeece, our Worship and Operations Minister, has accepted a new position as Co-Director of Missions at Lutheran Church of Hope. This is an exciting time for him and his family. I am so thankful for Matt and all that he has done for our campus. Matt will continue to lead on Sunday mornings until we are able to find our new Worship Arts Director.
We place our trust in the Lord and walk in faith as we approach this new season in ministry. I look forward to seeing you
this weekend.

Campus Pastor
