Hope Weekly
June 7, 2019
Back in the 1990's there was an advertising effort for churches that built on current messages of the time. American Express had a marketing campaign that focused on the privileges of having their card. The church ad project created the add to the right.
In the time since the ad appeared there has been an incredible shift against membership in the church and many social organizations. Clubs and civic organizations have felt a similar shift. People will participate but seem less interested in membership.

Last week we were blessed to welcome as members a number of folks who have been active at Hope. I give thanks that they have said yes to serving and being a part of the mission, we share. Please welcome

While it may be Summer, things lots of things are still going on around Hope. You can read about Breakfast and other things below. I want to highlight a few. Lots of folks have been working on preparing for Vacation Bible School. Next week decorating will really begin and you'll get to see it all on Sunday, June 16th. Please be praying each day for our leaders and the children who will be participating.

The work on the columns around our new sign are complete. We will need to address the landscaping around the sign with some grass seed and some low ground cover, but we are nearly finished. We have received lots of positive comments from our members and the community. We will now proceed with a variance request to be allowed to use full color on the new sign. When we have a date, I will share it as it will be helpful for Hope members that live in the Village to share their support with the Village officials.

Finally, work is set to begin on the lounge redecorating effort. Expect to see some changes after VBS and expect that fellowship on Sunday morning might need to be moved.

I pray that the summer provides some opportunity for Sabbath rest but I also pray that it includes Sabbath renewal for your spirit in worship.
