"IMAGES" Photographic Art Gallery
Newsletter
NOVEMBER 2023
Wonderful moments!
Dear friends,
Welcome to my monthly "PHOTOBLOG" newsletter, which I have been publishing for several years and have enjoyed sending to friends and clients in order to keep them informed of my current photographic interests, new works, upcoming exhibits and other Gallery events.
A new "subject" is at the center of each Newsletter, with which I present a short series of pertinent images along with any needed description and details, in order to allow my viewers to become more actively part of the discussion.
Most of the imagery displayed will be eventually on view at "IMAGES" Art Gallery, and of course I always welcome anyone's comments and interest in my work; the Gallery is open, often by appointment, and I would be happy to schedule a personal visit time for anyone at their convenience.
Any of these and other images could be custom printed/framed and become part of your art collection, based on your specifications and desires.
Over the years my recipients list has gradually grown, thanks to your interest and support, and I encourage you to share this "PHOTOBLOG" with friends and art lovers in your circles.
More of my photography on view at www.mellinophotography.com.
A sincere "thank you" for your interested attention,
Marcello Mellino.
The idea of focusing on "Close-up" images turned out to be rather enjoyable and very creative, since it expanded from the obvious "macro" images to others where the focal point was too interesting (to me, at least...) not to be included! Some of these were presented a couple of years ago, and they are now seen again, having added a number of new images for this month Photoblog.
The question always is: how to decide to "focus" where, particularly if the image is not a planned one, but rather an immediate capture somewhere ? Well, I am not sure that there is one correct answer to this question: sometimes you have to listen to your instinct and shoot, looking for that little detail which could make the story fly!
Several botanical images and some nature ones are the bulk of this series, to which I have added others such as the sepia image of the "girl eating gelato" or the "driftwood" along a deserted Florida beach.
Have fun!
The close-up of a US flag overlapping a gigantic wake created by one of Lake Erie cruise vessels on its way back from Put-in-Bay remains a perfect Summer image, now that Summer is fast slipping away!
The images of large masks and strange reflections were shot during a walk around the near West Side in Cleveland a few years ago; the masks and the large puppets had been part of the Parade the Circle events in the past, and were kept at this West 25th store. You are also meeting Gwynby, our adorable Cavalier spaniel puppy, wearing her Winter outfit...!
The "vini sfusi" image was at the entry door of a small Italian town wine shop, where villagers and visitors could purchase great locally produced wines by the bottle...often their own! The incredibly anatomically detailed "Silver HAND" can be seen behind the Museum of Modern Art on the East Side.
"IMAGES" Art Gallery has now moved to its new location within the West 78 Studios, 1300 West 78th street,Cleveland. We are located in suite # 207, on the second floor of this amazingly creative complex, filled with artists studios and housing some of the best Art Galleries anywhere in our region. This is truly a very exciting time for me, as I introduce my Art Gallery to so many new visitors and clients, while I remind all of you who had visited at our prior Lakewood location to plan to stop by during one of the next "THIRD FRIDAYS" events held monthly at the W.78 Studios, from 5 to 9 pm. These openings usually attract over a thousand visitors every month, creating a very exciting and stimulating environment for all involved!
I sincerely thank you for your continuous interest and support over the years, and hope to see you soon at the "new" Gallery!
To all, my best wishes for a wonderful, safe and very enjoyable Thanksgiving!

Marcello.
