Supporting the Community’s Recovery with Compassionate Care and Impactful Services

These past months, our financial stability services and disaster relief staff have been bringing help and hope to thousands of people in our communities through the distribution of local, state, and federal financial relief.

"Estoy muy agradecida por su ayuda- I am very grateful for your help," Marisol* shared, tears streaming down her cheeks.

Marisol said it was a blessing for her family to receive Catholic Charities’ assistance. As a farm-working family in San Ardo, the 2023 storms caused significant damage to the fields and rental unit where Marisol and her spouse live and work. The storms left her family without a refrigerator and stove to cook food.

Thanks to the Storm Assistance for Immigrants (SAI), Marisol can now afford to purchase a small refrigerator and cooktop to prepare meals for her family. She was overwhelmed with happiness by the compassionate services provided by the Catholic Charities staff.

Families and individuals impacted by the 2023 storms at our different locations. In the past few months, Catholic Charities Diocese of Monterey has distributed financial assistance to thousands of people across Monterey County, San Benito County, and San Luis Obispo County.

Partnerships in Action

Thank you for your support.

We are incredibly grateful for the collaborative efforts with the County of Monterey, the State of California, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture for selecting Catholic Charities as a nonprofit partner in distributing disaster relief funds to support the recovery of our local community.

Programs such as the Storm Assistance for Immigrants (SAI) Program, the Food and Farm Worker Relief (FFWR) Program, Monterey County Storm Relief, and the Pajaro Unmet Needs Program are essential to helping all members of our community thrive.

Thank you to our donors, supporters, and volunteers for joining us in providing relief and promoting resilience for our brothers and sisters during vulnerable times in their lives. The road of recovery is long and difficult, and we are honored to walk this path with our community and partners.
