Volunteers Needed
If you have not applied to camp yet, don't delay! We are at a record number of camper applications, and that means we need to see record numbers of attendant applications.
If you know of anyone 16 or older who is looking for a great way to earn service learning hours, then tell them about our week of camp. They can earn 144 hours. If you have already applied to camp, don't forget to mail in your waiver and physical forms.

Featured Highlight: Sawsan Abuosbie

Sawsan Abuosbie got involved with Horizon after some of her friends from MDA started attending Horizon Camp. This upcoming summer with be her fifth year attending camp. Sawsan's favorite part of camp is that most people don't have a phone signal on the camp site. She says, "it's amazing to see everyone come together as a community and we only have each other, like one big family."

During the rest of the year, Sawsan stays involved with the Horizon community. She is a member of the Camp Committee and helps plan a fun-filled week. Also, this past fall, she gave a speech about her involvement with Horizon at the Dallas fundraiser. Sawsan tries to attend as many fundraisers as she can throughout the year and also works to recruit her friends and people who "have an open mind and a big personality to add to our Horizon family."

Nate, Sawsan, and Justin
