- August 2015 Newsletter -

Horizon Camp 2015, our largest camp to date, was a success!  With over 240 people, countless memories were made and we want to share some with you! Kathy Kingston says "There were so many wonderful moments like Justin DeMus dancing with Viki Peer, swimming, our perfect weather, everyone embracing our  medieval theme and working together to make special memories."  Nataly Aguilera Reyes says "By far one of my favorite memories of camp this year is BJ's concert to the ladies of Buzzard. He played 'Smoke on the Water' for us and it was amazing - it made my week!" Everyone had an incredible week and we can't wait for 2016!

Located at beautiful Hastings Lake in Lindenhurst, IL, there will be something for everyone! Paved hiking trails winding through beautiful wetlands, a state-of-the art playground, a huge covered pavilion, plenty of green space for games, and a great barbecue for us to cook up lunch for everyone. We will have plenty of food and drinks for everyone, so bring out your whole family. We will have games, music, bubbles, and plenty of great camp moments to share. Please RSVP to Jen Bernover today so we can be sure to have enough food for everyone.  We hope to see you there!
Thank You for Being Our Horizon Heroes
Another amazing week of camp is in the books, and we could not have done it without your support. Horizon hosted 107 campers this year. Each year we are fortunate to have many experienced returning camp volunteers join us, and we are always excited for each new volunteer who gets to experience what we all have come to call the best week of the year. A big thank you to everyone who donated supplies from our camp wish list. We sure do love our evening cookouts, and the supplies that were donated went a long way. We also want to thank our sponsors who have continued to believe in the importance of what we do. Everyone who touched our week of camp, either by being there, by sending a donation or kind words of support...you are all Horizon Heroes.
