Weekly Eblast -- 10/23/2026

We are excited to introduce Blaze the Trail to 95%, our schoolwide attendance campaign!

Our goal is to have at least 95% of our students at school each day. Throughout the second quarter, students will participate in classroom and schoolwide challenges, with new goals, celebrations, and surprises announced along the way.

Our first challenge is the 10-Day Classroom Attendance Challenge. When a class reaches 95% attendance or higher for 10 consecutive school days, the class will earn a special trip to the Snack Shack!

Regular attendance helps students stay connected to their learning, their teachers, and their classroom community. Families can support the campaign by helping students arrive on time, scheduling appointments outside the school day whenever possible, and avoiding preventable absences.

We also want to be clear: children who are sick should stay home, rest, and recover. This campaign is not about perfect attendance or sending sick students to school. It is about making every school day count when students are healthy and able to attend.

Students can follow our progress on Blaze’s daily attendance poster and watch for upcoming challenges throughout the quarter.

Be here. Learn together. Grow together.

Let’s Blaze the Trail to 95%!

ChatGPT for Teens Rated an “Unacceptable Risk”

Common Sense Media’s Youth AI Safety Institute tested OpenAI’s new ChatGPT for Teens and rated it an “Unacceptable Risk” for all kids under 18. Parent alerts failed to fire even when teens discussed suicide, self-harm, or disordered eating, crisis support fell short, and it still does kids’ homework. The findings show why we need regulations requiring independent safety testing before these products reach teens.

Author Amy Fellner Dominy will be joining the Grades 3-4 classes to share her newly released book, Monster Down Deep. There will be two interactive sessions on Tuesday, November 10th in the Media Center.

Session 2: 1:55 - 2:40 PM

We will be pre-selling personalized, signed copies of her book starting October 14th thru October 27th at midnight on PowerSchool for $13.
