HORIZON HONORS SCHOOLS

MAKE THE GRADE!

The Arizona Education Department released the 2022-2023 A-F Letter Grades for all public schools statewide.

We are thrilled to announce that both Horizon Honors Elementary School (Grades K-6) and Horizon Honors Secondary School (Grades 7-12) have received an outstanding grade of "A."

These remarkable achievements reflect our unwavering commitment to continual improvement and our teachers' dedication to providing students with the necessary resources and support to not only succeed but truly thrive. We couldn't be prouder of the hard work exhibited by our students and staff alike.

We appreciate the support of our families as we work together to achieve academic success for all our students. Thank you for being a part of our community and sharing in our celebration!

About the A-F Letter Grades:

The letter grades are the annual achievement profile for every public school in the state based on an A through F scale. The system utilizes state assessment results, English learner assessment results, attendance, special education metrics, graduation rates and progress towards graduation, and graduating seniors’ completion of activities that help prepare for college and career. These metrics are indicators that an elementary student is ready for success in high school and that high school students are ready to succeed in a career or higher education.

Schools receiving "A" grades are described as excellent, "B" schools are described as highly performing, "C" schools are described as adequately performing, "D" schools are described as minimally performing and "F" schools are described as failing.

WINTER WELLNESS WEEK

November 6th-9th

Horizon Honors Elementary School will conduct a Wellness Week four times a year, for one week every quarter. During each Wellness Week, the entire school will participate in physical activity and programs designed to promote lifelong health and fitness. Components of Wellness Week include classroom activity breaks using specially prepared videos, a special school-wide event, and celebration activities.

THEATRE ARTS FUNDRAISER

Art Masterpiece, Dear Day, Field Trip, Fun Run or just helping out in the classroom we love having you with us!

A Volunteer Application must be filled out at least 24 hours before the event. This gives Raptor time to process a background check. Parents/guardians, friends and family need to fill this application out every year. Please be sure to use your full legal name as it appears on your Arizona drivers license when filling out the application.

Decorate your home for the Holidays while supporting our Choir and Band programs. All proceeds benefit Horizon Honors Band & Choir.

STILL NEED SCHOOL PICTURES?

School Pics will be hosting a special picture day at their Ahwatukee studio on Saturday, November 11th to accommodate staff or Grades K-11 students that were newly enrolled since they took pictures or were not able to take a school portrait on those days. LUNCH PROGRAM UPDATES!

Check out our updated menu items! We have a variety of choices including a la Cart options, gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, drinks, desserts, entrees, and more!

What if my child is absent/has an appointment during their lunchtime and I’ve already ordered?

Email Dishes2u at customercare@dishes2u.com prior to 7:00 a.m. the day of delivery. Include your STUDENT'S NAME & SCHOOL for this credit to be processed. Unfortunately, if customer care is not contacted BY EMAIL ONLY prior to 7:00 a.m., credits will not be applied, as we have already purchased the meal for you (restrictions apply, limit of 4 credits per month, per student for cancellations after ordering deadline). After 7:01 a.m., credits cannot be given if your student misses lunch due to illness or appointments. 

If you do not cancel prior to 7 a.m. or would like to make additional arrangements, you are welcome to email lunches@horizonhonors.org to arrange for a sibling/or student to receive lunch OR a parent to pick up lunch during lunch period. If no arrangements are made by 12:00pm, the lunch will be donated.

What is the lunch program?

Horizon Honors partners with Dishes2U to provide a secure, fast and easy to use online ordering platform that allows you to order, prepay, and manage student orders from your smartphone, tablet or computer. Vendors differ daily and rotate every other week with the exception of Chick-fil-A is every Tuesday.

How do I sign up?

2. Click Create an Account: Password is: horizon85
3. Enter information and click Submit
4. Enter information for your students, Add Profile. Repeat for any additional students.
5. Click I’m Done and Sign In
