Weekly Eblast -- 3/1/24

4TH QUARTER ILP / EARLY RELEASE DAYS:

Your child’s Individual Learning Plan (ILP) is developed each quarter and includes individual learning outcomes your student is expected to achieve by the end of that quarter. This serves as both a visual indicator of progress and an agenda for personal conferences with the student’s teachers and parents. ILP goals are developed each quarter during a student/parent/teacher ILP conference. The conference includes a review of the student’s progress and goals for the upcoming quarter. Progress on the learning outcomes is noted in the PowerSchool program. Participation in the ILP Conference is required. Students might not be promoted to the next grade level and/or graduate without this involvement.

REPEATED INFORMATION

SCHEDULING FOR 2024-2025

Class registration for the 2024-2025 school year is swiftly approaching, and we are SO excited to get our 6th graders ready for scheduling for Middle School! Here is key information to assist you in registering for classes. Sixth Graders should have received the Course Scheduling Guide via email on Wednesday, February 28th from Mr. Schneider.

Course registration will start next week on March 7th when students will attend a Scheduling Orientation during the school day with the Secondary Team. At that time, students will also receive their Course Request form and a hard copy of the Course Scheduling Guide. The time between now and March 7th is to familiarize yourself with the registration process and courses available.

Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend a parent information session for scheduling in the evening on Thursday, March 7th from 5:00 pm to 6:15 pm in the MPR.

ILP Conferences will be held on March 22nd and March 23rd, and the Secondary Team will be present during ILPs to have placement conversations.

Course Request Forms are due by 4:00 pm on Monday, March 25th. Students are encouraged to submit their course request forms at their individual ILP conference.

In May a Course Verification Form will be distributed to students with instructions for families on how to verify the assigned courses.

We are excited to welcome you to Horizon Honors Middle School!
