TURKEY TROT FUN RUN


The Turkey Trot Fun Run and Walk will take place Tuesday, November 26. Kindergarten - 2nd Grade will be on the Horizon Honors Field and 3rd - 6th Grade will be at Pecos Park. Turkey Trot Fun Run Walk Information Flyer


Parents and family members are welcome and encouraged to participate and must fill out a VOLUNTEER APPLICATION.


Please check in at the Elementary Office with your government issued ID. All adults attending the event must fill out a VOLUNTEER APPLICATION and read through the Volunteer Information.


Parents and volunteers will meet in the classrooms for Kindergarten and 1st and 2nd Grades and in the courtyard for 3rd through 6th Grades. This is a non-dress code day and students are welcome to wear appropriate athletic wear. Click here for times and locations.

REMINDER: EARLY RELEASE DAY NOVEMBER 27


As Thanksgiving approaches, we want to remind our families that Wednesday, November 27th is an Early Release Day for all Horizon Honors students. 

  • Elementary and PreK students are released at 11:30 am.
  • Secondary students are released at noon. 
  • Lunches will NOT be served. 
  • Please make arrangements now for on-time student pickup. Students will not be permitted to stay on campus unless enrolled in Club Horizon.
  • Club Horizon will be open for students in Grades PreK-6 until 6 p.m. and registration is now open. 


In addition, the Horizon Honors campus will be closed for Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 28th and Friday, November 29th.

Winter Warm Up Drive


Student Council will host a drive to collect items needed for the Aris Foundation, an organization that assists those who are experiencing homelessness.


Items needed are:

  • Blankets
  • Jackets
  • Sweaters/Sweatshirts
  • Pants
  • Shirts
  • Warm socks
  • Gloves, mittens, warm hats, scarves


Donations can be dropped off in the Elementary Foyer in the labeled bins. The drive will run until December 20th.

NJHS Annual Toy Drive for HopeKids!


We are starting our annual NJHS Holiday Toy Drive!! NJHS is in need of about 200 toys for our Holiday Party. Toys need to be new, and can be for any age!

We are collecting until December 6th and there are donation boxes in the Elementary Foyer, Media Center, and various classrooms.
