World Kindness Day is celebrated annually on 13th of November. On this day, participants attempt to make the world a better place by celebrating and promoting good deeds and pledging acts of kindness, either as individuals or as organizations.

Looking for a way to be involved in the Horizon Honors Community?

Join us for the next Staff Appreciation Committee Meeting to be held in the Media Center on Thursday, November 16th at 8:15am.

This meeting will be to plan our annual cookies and cocoa event.

MORNING MEETING PRESENTATION

Phoenix College Food Drive

At Horizon Honors we show commitment to our community. Phoenix College (a Maricopa Community College) has about 85% of students on financial aid and around 60-70% of students experiencing food insecurity on our campus. Faculty and staff have created a food pantry on campus to support needs and Horizon Honors would love to help them out. We will begin a formal food drive starting now through December 8th. Donation bins will be located in the Elementary front entryway.

Here are the items requested:

Assorted cup of noodles

Protein bars/shakes or granola bars

Peanut Butter & Jelly

Breakfast cereal

Baby formula, food, diapers, and etc.

Canned meat/chicken, fish or spam

Instant rice (brown or white)

Protein bars/shakes or granola bars

Canned fruits

Canned soups

Pasta/macaroni and cheese
