LAST CHANCE TO JOIN THE SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT TEAM

We invite our parents and guardians to be a part of the K-12 Horizon Honors Schools Improvement Team (SIT) for the 2026-2027 school year. The theme of this year's work will be related to Giving Tuesday, including a potential revamp of the campaign. Please note that the Schools Improvement Team will consist of not only parents/guardians but may also include staff, alumni, and students.

Community members who apply must be able to attend most of the meetings listed below. Meetings will be held in person from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. on the following dates:

Monday, September 28 at 3:30 p.m.

Monday, November 2 at 3:30 p.m.

Monday, January 25 at 3:30 p.m.

Monday, April 12 at 3:30 p.m.

If you would like to be an official representative of the Schools Improvement Team, please submit your application by Monday, September 14. A lottery drawing will be held at the September 22nd School Board Meeting. You will be notified after the meeting of the lottery results.

PICKLEBALL CLUB INTEREST MEETING

Join us for a Middle School and High School Pickleball Club interest meeting on Wednesday September 16th at 3:00-3:15pm in the MPR.

The University of Arizona has a FREE Math tutoring program!

No registration is required.
Students may join any scheduled tutoring session that matches their grade level or course.
All tutors have successfully completed state and federal background checks.

Join us for an evening of games, food, music and family fun at our Horizon Honors Fall Into Fun on Friday, September 25 from 5- 8 PM on the Horizon Honors Field.

This year there will be inflatables, a rock wall, a ballistic swing and a dunk tank! Take fun photos at the photo Booth and get 360 degree videos as well. Horizon Honors Clubs and Teams will have fun carnival games and snacks. The Sweet Magnolia's Smokehouse Food Truck will be here, but families are welcome to bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages.

Fall Into Fun is a CASHLESS event. Carnival Tickets can be purchased in advance and bonus tickets will be available for all presale ticket purchases.

Fall into Fun is more than just a schoolwide event. It is an opportunity for our Horizon Families to come together and help create a memorable evening for our students & community.

Volunteering as a family is a wonderful way to show our children the importance of giving back, getting involved and supporting the school community. Whether you can give an hour or stay for the evening, every helping hand makes a difference. And you may just have a lot of fun along the way!

BOOK FAIR BEGINS SEPTEMBER 28!

Our 1st Book Fair of the year will be here before we know it!

September 25th we will set up the Book Fair, we appreciate any parent help!
September 28th through October 1st the Book Fair will be open for shopping!
And finally, October 2nd will be the Book Fair clean up.

If you want to help with any of these shifts we use SignUp for all of our volunteer needs. Please make sure you complete a Volunteer Application prior to showing up for your shift!

We count on our wonderful parents / grandparent volunteers to help with the Book Fairs, we can't do it without you!

We appreciate ANY help you can provide! Volunteers help students select books, run the cash registers and help find prices on books for students.
