MIDDLE SCHOOL: WEAR BLACK FOR THE 30TH PHOTO ON MONDAY!

Our 20-year photo!

As part of Horizon Honors’ 30th anniversary celebration, we will be taking an all-community photo on Monday, April 13th on the Horizon Honors Field. Students and staff will be arranged to spell out “HH 30!” for the photo.

Our photography company will use a drone to capture the image, which will include more than 1,600 members of the Horizon Honors community.

To ensure the design is clearly visible, students need to wear the following:

PreK and Kindergarten: Black shirt

Grades 1–6: Blue shirt

Grades 7–12: Black shirt

IMPORTANT:

The Horizon Honors offices will be CLOSED on Monday, April 13 from 12:30 - 1:15 PM for the photo. If you must pick up your child, you must do so before 12:30 PM or after 1:20 PM. We will not be able to release any students while offices are closed.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping make this photo a success!

WE APPRECIATE ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL MS. OWES!

ARE TEENS CHOOSING AI OVER HUMAN CONECTION? NEW RESEARCH HAS ANSWERS

I talk with many teens and parents and often ask whether they have had conversations about AI together, and most say “no.” I wrote today's blog to help spark these important conversations.

The Rithm Project, whose mission is “building human connection in the age of AI,” recently released data from a survey of 2,383 13 to 24-year-olds.

The goal was to better understand why teens do or don't use AI, how their current relationships affect their choice of use, and finally, how their use or non-use impacts their relationships.

I dive into the findings in today's blog, including insights on how a number of young people are choosing to "turn to AI more than people sometimes..."
