COVID-19 REMINDERS

Siblings of Sick Students:
If a student is sick AND/OR awaiting COVID-19 testing results, we require all siblings to also remain at home.

STUDENT SECTION
On Thursday, May 6, 2021,
students entering grades 8 - 12
for the 2021-22 school year will be sent a
Course Verification Google Form
to their student email accounts.

Follow the instructions on how to
verify courses for next school year.  

Go over the courses as a family
as well as read through the
Course Verification statement
and the Honors/AP Agreement.

Please fill out the Google Form to verify your classes
no later than Friday, May 14, 2021
Failure to meet this deadline could
impact your priority in scheduled courses.

Please know that every effort was made to schedule you into your highest ranked elective choices that fit into your schedule.

Spring Testing Update:
Per Arizona state testing requirements, all students in the required cohorts, both in-person and remote learners, will need to come to campus to complete AzM2 (AzMerit) and AIMS Science testing in the spring. The way we are facilitating testing, without further affecting class time and maintaining COVID mitigation strategies to the best of our abilities, is to have certain cohorts of students come to campus on different Asynchronous Wednesdays from April 14th through May 5th. Please reference the following graphic which maps out the different activities, including testing, happening on upcoming Asynchronous Wednesdays. A more detailed communication regarding the processes and procedures for testing will be sent out closer to the testing dates.

If you want your picture, idea, or thoughts on 2020 included,
please use an 8 ½" x 11" piece of paper and
make sure it's school appropriate.

Please add it to the box located in front of the Secondary office. 
It will remain out in front of the office through the end of the year.

All grades will be included!

Our Secondary Kindness Krew is working on a finals surprise for students! We are kindly requesting donations that will help our Krew's mission to spread a little kindness around! Donations of the following multi-pack boxes of individually wrapped and sized items are VERY much appreciated:

-Rolls of mints (Variety-spearmint, peppermint, etc.)
-Cookies (Ex: Famous Amos chocolate chip cookies)
-Granola Bars (Variety packs)
-Chips (Variety packs)
-Poptarts (Brown Sugar Cinnamon & Strawberry flavors only, please)

UPDATE POLICY AS OF 4/28/21 --

Use of face coverings for STUDENTS and STAFF will be optional during the following activities:
  • Outdoor Physical Education classes
  • Outdoor recess
  • Outdoor lunch breaks (beyond when students are not eating)

Use of face coverings for STAFF will be optional during the following activities:
  • Outdoor duties when not in close proximity to other community members (Ex: traffic duty)

Please note that face coverings are still required for all community members during pick up, drop off, and during class transition times when students may be walking outside. Also, face coverings will continue to be required inside campus buildings until further notice.

These decisions were made due to the improved COVID metrics and concerns regarding the health of students and staff wearing a mask outside as the weather becomes hot.

Face coverings MUST:
  • Fully cover a person’s nose and mouth
  • Fit snugly but comfortably against the wide of the face and under the chin.
  • Remain affixed in place without the use of one’s hands.
  • Not have holes except for band-style masks when actively playing an instrument.
  • Not be face shields. However, face shields may be used in addition to face covering.
  • Follow the “all clothing and accessory guidelines” dress code guidelines.  Middle School Dress Code
  • Be laundered regularly or disposed of appropriately
