Michael Meyer first heard about Horizon in the fall of 2002 after seeing a segment on ABC 7 News. "I was instantly intrigued and wanted to know more." Michael attended Horizon Camp for the first time in 2004. He was nervous, but excited for this new experience. He had previously attended MDA camp from 1995-2004 and now many of his old camp friends come to Horizon as well.

Now over 10 years later, Michael is heavily involved with Horizon. He has been a member of the Camp Committee since 2006 and a member of the Board and Golf Committee since 2007. He has also organized countless fundraisers over the years. "I am very passionate when it comes to Horizon. Every day I am doing some kind of work to keep this wonderful organization moving. Horizon is in my blood."

Outside of Horizon, Michael has many different interests and hobbies.He describes himself as a "foodie" and loves trying new foods and recipes. He also loves music and can listen to anything. He enjoys things related to the outdoors and the environment. Michael is also a life-long Cubs fan and enjoys going to games.
