We hope you had an amazing and fun filled week at camp! Our Horizon Family wants YOU to get involved this year. We want your creativity, your ideas, and your input on how you can get involved. Reach out to one of our board members to become part of a committee or come join us for our Annual Meeting that is scheduled for Sunday, October 18th at 10am. You can RSVP for the meeting to Sheila. Fall is Coming!

Fall Weekend camp is coming too! Beautiful fall colors, campfires, S'mores, hayrides, and John Lee's cooking are just some of the things you won't want to miss. The fun begins at TPOC on Friday, October 2nd to Sunday, October 4th. Don't delay and sign up today, space is limited and we fill up fast. Applications are available now on our website.

Recycling Drive to Raise Cash for Camp

Bring your aluminum cans to the Rexam recycling drive, next Saturday, September 12th and raise funds for camp. When you turn in your cans just say you choose to have your recycling funds donated to Association of Horizon. Recycle your cans at a special event price and enter the Rexam raffle drawing for a chance to win prizes. Contact Anna with any questions.

Feature Highlight: Rachel Hildebrand

Rachel Hildebrand attended Horizon camp for the first time this summer. She found out about Horizon while she was searching for a week-long volunteer opportunity in her area. Her mother volunteered at MDA camp in the past, so Rachel tried to give Horizon a shot. Rachel's favorite part of camp was the Friday night dinner and dance. "It was the perfect culmination to a fun-packed week of adventures and activities."

Outside of Horizon, Rachel is a physical therapist assistant student at College of DuPage. Her hobbies includes, writing stories, teaching workshops, performing in dance shows, and competing in all kinds of races from 5Ks to marathons.

Horizon is thrilled to announce that Heal Team 6 has chosen to organize an event for us again this year! 007-License to Change a Life will be a James Bond-themed event that will be a night to remember at Lake Forest Sports Cars in Lake Bluff! Please join us for an exciting night of excellent food, fantastic music, casino and so much more! If you'd like to be a sponsor or have an auction item to donate, please contact Kathy. Tickets go on sale on September 8th at healteam6.org, so get them early! Don't miss this spectacular evening for Horizon!
