Cedar Rapids Mayor Brad Hart

had been delivering meals with Horizons' Kay Fisk on the first week of hot meals when they made a startling discovery: they reached one client who had fallen and was unable to get up. After checking her carefully for injury, Fisk and Hart proceeded to give the client her meal.

Thank you Mayor Hart for helping our older adult population age safely in their homes!

New Board members, officers set for Fiscal Year 2022
The Horizons Board of Directors voted in and welcomes the following individuals for three-year terms as of July 1:

  • Alissa Carson, Marketing Project Manager for United Fire Group, has been elected to the Horizons Board of Directors as a member.
  • Casey Greene, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for UnityPoint Health Cedar Rapids, has been elected to the Horizons Board of Directors as a member.
  • Lisa Strait, Vice President of Commercial Services for Collins Community Credit Union, has been elected to the Horizons Board of Directors as a member.
  • Caleb Woods, Communications Specialist at Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance Account Manager, has been elected to the Horizons Board of Directors as a member.
