Let Us Pray…

On Mondays at 12:15, beginning Monday, September 25, we will gather in the Lassiter House to pray for our church, our ministries, our members, our community, and our world! We will begin with a centering scripture passage and pray through the joys and needs of the week. We will close with a prayer in unison and the Lord’s Prayer.

Kim Lamb will guide us through our prayer time and handouts will be provided for continued prayer at home. We will complete our group time at 12:50. If this is your lunch break, please bring your lunch to eat while we pray! If you are headed to the 1:00 Bible Study or to pick up your child from Preschool, we will dismiss in time for you to walk to the main building!

We have two objectives in this weekly prayer ministry: to surround our church, our ministry, our people, our community and our world in prayer; to provide a means for each of us to develop the prayer muscles we need to maintain trusting and open relationships with God.

Children’s Church – Children may leave after Children’s time to go to the nursery (under 4) or to Children’s Church (4 years-5^th grade) where they will participate in worship with their class in fun constructive ways! Or they are welcome to stay and worship with their parents. There is something for everyone!

Children's Sunday School

Children's Sunday School begins on September 10, and will meet every Sunday for 3-year-olds through 5th grade! We gather in room B8 in the basement at 9:55am. They will be picked up at 10:45 from the ground floor classrooms B9 (K-1st), B8 (2nd-3rd), B7 (preschool age), B6 (4th-5th).

It's time to sign up to be a Children's Sunday School Leader for this quarter! The lessons and supplies will be provided for you each week. Two adults lead each class. All you need to do is sign up with Jessica. Sign-ups are on a rotation basis. You may sign up for as many as you like. Sunday School teachers are important faith mentors for our children!

This class uses book discussions, studies of specific books of the Bible, and topical studies to dig into scripture and matters of faith. Participants will choose their preferred study material for the fall during the first class.

Calling all Men at Horne! You are all invited to attend a Men’s Fishing & Fellowship Retreat in October. The Cost is $200 and includes lodging, food, and bait for fishing for the entire weekend. Horne Memorial Hearts of Hope

The HMUMC Missions Team is excited to announce the formation of a new local missions & outreach ministry, Hearts of Hope. This ministry provides clothing & household goods to those in need in Johnston County and surrounding areas. The vision for Hearts of Hope was developed over time by the many HMUMC volunteers serving with Hope Chest in Selma. See more information on our website.
