Heal Together All-School Assembly |
|
Almost one year ago, our world dramatically changed. Since then, we have all seen the increased need for mental health and wellness in our students and families.
During the week of March 22nd, Edina Public Schools will host a virtual all-school assembly for our students sponsored by the Edina Education Fund, Student Representatives, Superintendent John Schultz, and all Edina Public School (EPS) District Principals.
The Heal Together Assembly will feature special celebrity guests and the EPS Mental Health and Wellness support team with messages of hope, resilience and important resources for all Edina students.

Chemical Health services are available to all Edina High School students. Candi Davenport MS, LADC offers free, confidential service for students and their families looking for resources and interventions for cessation for vaping. Candi also provides education and support to students and parents on a wide variety of topics surrounding chemical use. She offers individual and group sessions for students to explore how their use impacts their lives or the lives of those around them.

Local Scholarships for Seniors |

The Edina Local Scholarship application is now open!
- This program is exclusive to students in the senior class.
- All applications for the Edina Local Scholarship program are due on March 19, 2021 by 3:30pm.
- Please note - several of the scholarship opportunities require additional supplemental applications. Please read instructions carefully.
- Students must be signed into a Google account to access the application.
- In May, a Scholarship Breakfast will be held for students who are awarded scholarships that they will be expected to attend (COVID Permitting)

Senior Post Secondary Information |

Seniors do you need help with your post-EHS plan? 4-year college? 2-year college? Trade school? Work? EHS has trained adult volunteers in coordination with the Counseling Department who are ready to provide free one-on-one help with financial aid, applications, resumes – whatever you need. Please let your Counselor know or email Ann Webster ([email protected]) to be assigned a volunteer!

Many students choose to visit colleges (during a typical year, that is). This year will be different and many colleges are choosing to forgo in-person tours.
With college-exploration, there are a few options for students to still explore potential post-secondary fits!
We are continuing a robust schedule of college admission representative virtual visits. These meetings are designed to put students in direct contact with the admissions folks who know their schools best. Check out the link for a list of what colleges are

their children tested for COVID-19 every two weeks.

Use this document to help guide your decision making with evaluating what to do with symptoms and exposure. |

Do not come to school if you have any of the symptoms below.
If you develop any of the these symptoms during the day while at school, please go to the nurse's office.

Students, staff and anyone at Edina High School must wear a mask or face covering (worn properly over the nose and mouth) when in the building.
If you are outside the building you must wear a mask or face covering when you cannot maintain 6' of distance from others.
|
|
For students who are driving to school with non-household carpool members, it is important to remember to be safe! Wearing masks when in a vehicle with others helps contain the spread of COVID-19.
As riding in a vehicle does not allow for 6 feet of physical distancing, EHS and MDH views passengers in a vehicle as "close contacts", subject to 14 day quarantine if exposed to a positive COVID-19 case.
This is another example of why it is so important to practice safe behaviors, both inside and outside the walls of EHS.

Pay Fees in Infinite Campus |

Classroom materials and library books are essential to student learning. When materials are lost or damaged, students are asked to pay a replacement cost. To make things easier for families, those fees may be paid in Infinite Campus. If you receive an email telling you that your student has a fee or missing books/items, please login to the Parent Portal and use the tutorial below to see what fee has been assigned or to find out what book/item is missing. You can pay for the missing book/item or the fee in Infinite Campus. If you need help with your login information, please email [email protected]. |

Registration is now open!
Community Ed is back for summer 2021, with a full menu of programs that help keep kids safe and engaged while meeting the needs of busy families. Our programs nurture a love of learning, support academic achievement and develop skills in technology, the arts, sports, and more! We’re educational, but also fun and social, building community and connections while we practice communication, collaboration and teamwork. Our many youth leadership opportunities help older students gain real-world experience as they explore college, career and life.
Enrichment Camps and Classes

- Program Dates: weeks of June 7-August 16
- Times: most camps are offered either 9:00am-12:00pm or 1:00pm-4:00pm, Monday-Thursday
- With nearly 400 summer classes and camps, we have something for everyone!
- Pre-K: Offerings include signature Book Buddies camps, plus sports, arts and more!
- Elementary: Camps that inspire kids as they learn to cook, code, play lacrosse or design jewelry. New classes support reading, math, and STEM skills.
- Middle School: From art and engineering to flag football and strength training, even more offerings are available! Plus, there are opportunities to develop real-world skills like understanding the stock market or making a business plan in Edina Rotary’s Summer Camp Enterprise.
- High School: Summer is the perfect time to stay active, learn to crochet, complete Driver’s Education, prepare for the ACT or complete your college applications.

COVID-19 Safety
While we don’t know all the health and safety guidance details for summer just yet, what we do know is this: we will pair the expertise we’ve gained in safely running care and enrichment programs all year, with what we know kids and families want and need.
All programs will incorporate the most current COVID-19 health and safety guidelines. We will continue to monitor all Minnesota Department of Health guidelines and executive orders from the Governor’s Office, and will adjust our practices as the pandemic situation evolves.

Edina Community Education and Edina Give and Go are providing a needs-based scholarship for students to participate in youth enrichment camps and classes this summer. Funding is limited. Apply early. South Korea Edina High School Exchange |

Virtual Information Meeting
March 15th
6:00pm
This experience is a one-to-one exchange for current EHS grade nine students. It will start with a virtual exchange in the Spring 2021. Your family will host a same-age South Korean student in Spring 2022 and then will be hosted by their South Korean "sibling" when they travel to Korea in the Fall of 2022.

Edina High School senior Shreya Konkimalla will discuss her children's novel "Free Birds" with community residents Carolyn Jackson and Mary Yee. "Free Birds" tells the story of Navya, a girl who lives the life of an untouchable in an imagined kingdom in India. This Edina Reads presentation is in collaboration with the Edina Art Center's Author's Studio.
