Cabarrus Weekly was invited to get a sneak peek of Skim Chickens last weekend, and let us tell you, we were thoroughly impressed!

What is unique about Slim Chickens?

🍗🍯 You will never get bored with their 17 options of sauces to pair with their 100% all-natural premium tenders.

  • Their wraps are as good on the outside as they are inside with flavorful tortillas packed with an abundance of yummy fillings.

🥞 You don’t normally find Chicken and Waffles at fast-casual chicken restaurants… and they were DELICIOUS!

Break Bread Ventures is behind this new option in our community. They said Concord's proximity to Charlotte and its rapid growth and development made it an attractive choice. This is the Arkansas-based chain’s third Charlotte area location to open in 18 months.

🍺🍷🗺️ Craft Beverage Trail Launches in Cabarrus County

Explore and Pour is a free, incentivized mobile passport program featuring 17 of Cabarrus County’s craft beverage locales.

Explore and Pour was launched earlier this month by the Cabarrus County CVB (CCCVB) to kick off North Carolina Beer Month and includes breweries, wineries, a cidery, distillery, and more.

  • “This destination is home to so many incredible makers and small business owners and we’re excited to further showcase their passion and expertise through the new trail,” said CCCVB President and CEO Donna Carpenter.

So how does it work?

  1. Sign up for your pass online and you will receive a text to get started (there is no app download required).
  2. Save to your mobile device home screen so you can check in at participating locations and earn points (100 points per check-in).
  3. Redeem points for cool Explore and Pour merchandise from the CCCVB located at 10099 Weddington Road Ext., Suite 102 in Concord..

What can you win? You only need 300 points for a bottle opener; 600 points for a T-shirt, and 900 points for a hat.
