GET READY TO HUSTLE! 9th Annual Hike for Hospice Hustle Returns May 4th

Spring is in the air, and that means it’s time to lace up your sneakers and join friends, family, and neighbours for a day of fresh air, fun, and community spirit! The 9th Annual Hike for Hospice Hustle returns on Sunday, May 4, 2025, inviting the community to walk, run, and gather in support of Foothills Country Hospice.

This heartwarming, family-friendly event starts and finishes at the Okotoks Arts & Learning Campus, offering both 2k and 5k walk routes along paved pathways—perfect for all ages, strollers, wheelchairs, and even leashed four-legged friends! Following the success of last year’s 5k run, we’re thrilled to introduce a 10k run in partnership with the Sheep River Road Race team, giving seasoned runners a chance to challenge themselves on the picturesque Sheep River pathways.

Participants can register as individuals or form teams with friends, family, or colleagues, making it a great opportunity to come together for a meaningful cause. Every step taken and every dollar raised helps ensure that terminally ill individuals and their families receive compassionate end-of-life care at Foothills Country Hospice. This year’s fundraising goal is $80,000, and every participant plays a role in making that possible.

Registration is open now and closes at midnight on May 1st. Join us for an inspiring day filled with fun, friendship, and support for hospice care!

WITH HEARTFELT THANKS TO FCSS Okotoks, FCSS Foothills County, FCSS Diamond Valley!

As a follow up to last month's FCSS High River funding announcement, we are excited to share that we have been chosen by FCSS Okotoks, FCSS Foothills County and FCSS Diamond Valley to receive funds as part of the annual Community Grant program.

We are incredibly grateful to all of our local FCSS organizations for continuing to support the Hospice and our Volunteer Services Program. As noted, this is a robust application process including a presentation for stakeholders with many worthy organizations seeking funding.

Our Volunteer Services Program is at the heart of our hospice, playing a vital role in every aspect of compassionate care. From bereavement support and reception to kitchen assistance and beyond, our dedicated volunteers make a meaningful difference each day.

"I never realized how much volunteering at Foothills Country Hospice would contribute to my well being, feeling of connection and appreciation for the people who work, volunteer and visit our Hospice." ~ FCHS Volunteer

Stop by our booth at the Okotoks Chamber of Commerce Tradeshow on April 5 and 6 at the Okotoks Recreation Centre! We'll be there to chat about our upcoming Hike and everything else Hospice related.
