Hospital Community Benefit Accountability

The Department of Health Care Policy & Financing (HCPF) would like to inform all reporting hospitals that the Hospital Community Benefit Accountability (HCBA) Schedule H Crosswalk has been updated. HCPF has updated the crosswalk to align with the new reporting categories from House Bill 23-1243: Hospital Community Benefit. Hospitals can utilize this crosswalk to assist in the completion of the HCBA annual reporting template by crosswalking the IRS 990 Schedule H community benefit spending categories to categories detailed in HCBA such as social determinants of health, behavioral health, free or discounted care services, and etc.

As a reminder, the HCBA annual template and other documentation around community benefit public meetings are due to HCPF on or before September 13, 2024.
