Hospital Discounted Care Updates

October Implementation Stakeholder Meeting Cancelled

The stakeholder meeting scheduled for Wednesday, October 22 regarding the implementation of HB 24-1399 and SB 24-116 has been cancelled.

The only remaining part of SB 24-116 that has not yet been implemented is the addition of the new population groups within Presumptive Eligibility (PE). The implementation of the system changes to accommodate the expanded population groups is in process and is currently on track to be completed by January 2026.

HCPF presented rules for the presumptive eligibility updates that impact Hospital Discounted Care at the October Medical Services Board meeting, which was held October 10, 2025. The rules were passed by the Board and are expected to go into effect January 1, 2026. The finalized rule documents are available on the Medical Services Board webpage linked through the agenda for the October 10 meeting.

Comments or questions can be sent to the hcpf_HospDiscountCare@state.co.us or hcpf_CICPCorrespondence@state.co.us inboxes at any time. Any questions regarding Presumptive Eligibility can be sent to hcpf_PE.Eligibility@state.co.us
