Hospital Discounted Care Newsletter

This newsletter provides information and updates on the implementation of House Bill (HB) 21-1198, Health Care Billing Requirements for Indigent Patients, otherwise known as Hospital Discounted Care. Low-income patients who aren't enrolled in Health First Colorado or Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) will have the opportunity to apply for financial assistance or charity care programs at the health care facility where they receive care.

Bill Implementation Stakeholder Meeting

The next stakeholder meeting for the ongoing implementation of SB 24-116 and HB 24-1399 is scheduled for Tuesday, May 13 beginning at 9:00 a.m. The meeting will be held via Zoom and no prior registration is necessary. The Presumptive Eligibility (PE) team will be joining the meeting to present on the current progress of adding the new PE groups per SB 24-116. This information was also presented at the April CICP Advisory Council meeting. The PE team will also have an FAQ document to share and will have time for questions.

Office Hours

HCPF is holding office hours every other Wednesday at 9 a.m. No registration is required. The Zoom link and call in information are on the Hospital Discounted Care website.
