Hospital Discounted Care Newsletter

This newsletter provides information and updates on the implementation of House Bill (HB) 21-1198, Health Care Billing Requirements for Indigent Patients, otherwise known as Hospital Discounted Care. Low-income patients who aren't enrolled in Health First Colorado or Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) will have the opportunity to apply for financial assistance or charity care programs at the health care facility where they receive care.

Hospital Discounted Care Updates

HCPF has added a link under the Future of the Program section on the CICP Advisory Council website to a Google Drive that contains the proposed Disproportionate Share Hospital (DSH) policy, a Q&A document, and submitted community partner feedback on the proposal. Documents will be added to and updated in this drive as necessary.

The DSH proposal will be presented at the CHASE Board meeting on February 25 starting at 3:00 p.m., and the initial rule update is slated to be presented to the Medical Services Board on April 11 starting at 9:00 a.m. The Public Rule Review Meeting for the April rules will be held on March 24 starting at 9:00 a.m.

Office Hours

HCPF is holding office hours every other Wednesday at 9 a.m. No registration is required. The Zoom link and call in information are on the Hospital Discounted Care website.
