The Toldo Lancer Centre (TLC), UWindsor's new sport and recreation centre, now open for two months, and has recently proven to be so much more than a place to get active - it is also a place to celebrate and connect.

Before the varsity basketball and volleyball season tips off at the end of the week, see what other exciting activities have been hosted at the versatile centre. 

At the end of September, the University of Windsor welcomed over 2,500 campus community members to the TLC for the Annual Campus Community BBQ, increasing 2019's attendance by over 500.

Enthusiastic attendees enjoyed a complimentary lunch, entertainment, swag, and sweet treats from Cottam Candy to celebrate being back on campus and the opening of the new sport and recreation complex.

This first campus-wide, outdoor event at the TLC was a formal thank you to UWindsor students and to the Alumni Association for their generous contributions to the project. 

This summer, the large multipurpose room (MPR) went through a quick refresh and is now open for special programming! With new paint, refurbished ceiling, revamped flooring, and a complement of strength and cardio training equipment, MPR expands the TLC footprint

The Toldo Lancer Centre is committed to ensuring that all members feel comfortable during their visit. TLC offers various dedicated and private programming to various communities to create an environment where diversity is celebrated and welcomed.

On October 2, five Lancer alumni, who have significantly contributed to UWindsor athletics, were inducted into the University of Windsor Alumni Sports Hall of Fame as part of 2022 Alumni Week celebrations. For the first time, the celebration took place on the centre-court of the Triple Gymnasium. The Hall of Fame display can be found on the Ellis Don Fortis Group Concourse, 2nd level, before entering the Triple Gymnasium

On October 14 and 15, more than 2,300 graduates crossed the stage for Fall 2022 convocation. A much-anticipated campus homecoming, it was the first time graduates celebrated their academic accomplishments in the new space. In recent years, convocation was hosted off site or virutally. 

The five sessions marked the beginning of all future graduation ceremonies to come at the TLC.
