Thanks to our generous community, Hostos continues to give students the support they need to persist while also providing access to unique opportunities to discover the world and pursue their career dreams. John Anthony Chardavoyne Endowed Scholarship
Established in 2021 and awarded in 2022, the John Anthony Chardavoyne Scholarship Endowment celebrates the adventurous spirit and captivating personality of a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Founded by Senior Vice President Esther Rodríguez-Chardavoyne, this scholarship supports students who share John’s love of learning, community service, and history.
At the 2023 Honors Convocation, two liberal arts students received the award. The first was Reyna Mena. A mother with a passion for promoting healthy lifestyles, Reyna looks forward to continuing her education as she pursues a future as an ultrasound technician. The second recipient was Anderson Valerio Ramos. Anderson loves nature and hopes to spend his career preserving it by working with an environmental organization. Thus far, the John Anthony Chardavoyne Memorial Scholarship has helped four students, but as an endowed scholarship, it will continue to reward exceptional scholars in perpetuity.
If you would like to learn more about making a lasting impact with an endowed scholarship, please contact Vice President of Institutional Advancement Colette Atkins at 718-518-4394 or via email at catkins@hostos.cuny.edu. You can also learn more on our website.
