What did your snow day look like?
Hot chocolate? Sledding? Lots of laughs and a few photos for the memories?
That’s exactly how we weathered the storm at Pendleton Place.
Snow fell, and the world slowed down for a few days.
For our team, we did what we always do:
Create comfort and normalcy for our young people.
Here is what our Youth Ally, Victoria, shared:
"Our adventuresome duo went outdoors to slide on the ice and play. It's amazing how creative you can get when you want to sled down hills! Like using a baking sheet as a makeshift sled. As they played carefree, they were sure to remind one another to take it easy. Some took pictures and laughed! Everyone spent time together making hot chocolate with marshmallows. They watched movies and listened to ice rain fall.
One resident assisted with making dinner. He showed confidence and passion for cooking by tossing the meatloaf up like he does with the pizza dough at his job, which everyone enjoyed.
Our young people took extra care and pride in their home by choosing to help us prepare—they sprinkled snow salt at entrances and made sure faucets were dripping to avoid any pipe issues.
They had a great time and took care of each other!"
