Greetings!
We had a fabulous time last month closing out the school term and acknowledging our growth and development over the past year. EmpowHer Institute continues to flourish with the help of fruitful partnerships with organizations and individuals who share our vision and passion for empowering girls through education and mentorship.
I am filled with gratitude and awe at the generosity and spirit that have touched this organization. Thank you so much for helping us achieve our mission through your donations, time, skills and support. I can truly say I know what William Arthur Ward meant when he said, "Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings."
With summer in full swing now, our focus is to ensure that next year's program will be even better. I look forward to working together as we evolve the program, with our eye on the goal to inspire young ladies in our community to achieve their best.
I hope this July brings you some fun and good memories and maybe even some much-deserved rest. Enjoy!

EmpowHer Chosen as Karma Charity
Moksha Yoga-LA has chosen EmpowHer Institute as its Karma Charity-for July and August. Along with Lululemon Athletica, on July 12, 2012 at 8:00 PM they will host "Hot Summer Nights" at 334 Beverly Drive, Beverly Hills. The event is open to the public (no charge).
WITI Next-Gen Conference Girls!
As mentioned last month, thanks to a sponsorship from Southern California Edison, 10 of our girls attended the Women in Technology International Summit, in Santa Clara, CA.
The experience opened the girls up to new possibilities for their futures. Read in their own words, what the experience meant to the girls. Tatyanna Carrasco said, "Thank you very much for all that EmpowHer has done for us. Without you, I would not have been able to go to the summit and learn about all the great opportunities women have in the science and technology fields!"
Patricia Navarro wrote, "Thanks for the great opportunity given to me. I appreciate everything from the flight to the food. Thank you for encouraging young girls to attend this summit. I have learned many ways to accomplish my goals in life."
