Vaccine Access for Everyone
Announcing Our New Vaccine Hotline
  • Are you having trouble signing up for the vaccine on your computer – or you don’t use computers?
  • Do you need a ride to the place giving the shots?
  • Is it hard to leave your home and you need the vaccine brought to you?
  • Do you want to learn more about the vaccine before you get it?

Disability Rights Texas can help. We are now assisting Texans with disabilities who are having trouble getting their COVID-19 vaccine for these reasons and more. We can also help provide more information about the vaccine from reliable sources to help you make your decision. Our Vaccine Access Navigators are specially trained to help connect you to what you need to get the vaccine.

For help, call the DRTx Vaccine Hotline for People with Disabilities at 1-800-880-8401 or email us at vaccine@DRTx.org.

Hotline hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This hotline is for vaccine access issues only. For other disability rights issues, call our main line at 1-800-252-9108.
But I Read It on the Internet...
Just because you read something on social media or online doesn't mean it's necessarily correct. It's important to make sure you get your information from well-known sources. The U.S. Center for Disease Control (CDC) has many excellent resources to help you learn more about the vaccine including the following:

In addition to considering the above information, you should also talk with your doctor about any special considerations due to your individual health situation.
Getting the Vaccine to More Texans with Disabilities
The Vaccine Hotline at DRTx is part of the COVID-19 Vaccine Access Initiative led by Texas Partners for Inclusive Access. This new statewide group of organizations and individuals is committed to making the vaccine and other services and programs accessible to Texans with disabilities. Stay tuned for an announcement in the near future with more details about this new collaboration.
